Introductory Edition

ReClaim's Fourth Annual Worship Conference

ReClaiming the Home

Christians are to be nourished in the home. The focus of the entire event is how the home can share the gospel in singing, devotions, and teaching. The conference kicks off with a family singspiration Sunday evening featuring hymns and songs for the home from the upcoming ReClaim hymnal, with an ice cream social following. The conference is open to anyone interested in knowing more about Christian worship and faith development.

Walter Sundberg
Worship as Repentance
Professor of Church History, Luther Seminary, St. Paul, Minn.

The heart of Christian worship is repentance. This is grounded in St. Paul's command to examine the self in 1 Corinthians 11. The trend in worship today is to turn it into "celebration." This threatens to make worship superficial; a poor witness to the gravity of Christian truth and ultimately unable to connect with people's lives.
